Dangerous People
Dick Koetsier
It was a bright Thursday morning when the shots rang out
And the devil laughed as 4 good men hit the ground
He said if the law comes a callin I’m gonna shoot them down
And he kept his promise this time around
In a quiet town where everything seemed alright
A deadly bomb was tickin day and night
They all knew he was evil but they turned their heads
Lets change a few rules now before another good mans dead
And let this be the straw that breaks the camels back
Make the politicians act and get things back on track
Lets do those young men proud and lets make a change
Lets give the rights back to the victims
And put dangerous people away
It seems today that criminals have the upper hand
We slap them on the wrist and turn them loose again
Blame the judges blame your leaders blame yourself my friend
When trouble was brewing in Mayorthorpe
You were hiding your head in the sand
On Friday the investigation did begin
The flags flew at half mast, flowers and letters poured in
But there’s one unborn baby who’ll never meet their dad
To bad we couldn’t act when Roszco showed us he was bad
And let this be the straw that breaks the country’s back
Wake the politicians up and get us back on track
Lets do those young men proud and lets make a change
Lets give the rights back to the victims
And put dangerous people away
Lets do those young boys proud and lets just make the change
Lets give the rights back to the victims
And put dangerous people away
A Little Story To Share!
A young boy in Grande Prairie, Alberta was about to celebrate his 8th Birthday.
His parents asked him what he would like for his birthday. He replied,"I would like money".
At his birthday party he received .00. When asked what he would like to do with this money, he asked to be taken to the Police Station in Grande Prairie.
His parents abliged and drove him to the RCMP Station.
The young boy entered, and turned over his .00 to the RCMP for the We Remember Memorial Fund.
On behalf of the families, and myself I would like to thank this amazing young man. Your contribution is worth far more than words can touch upon.
Thank you, Doug

Ms. Shirley Jones provided the following:
"My granddaughter, aged 10, was so moved when she heard of the horrendous loss of these courageous men that she wrote the following poem. I thought it should be shared with the families to show the love and support they have, even from the young."
RIPPLES,
by Hayley Kenyon
As each drop falls all solid and grand
Some people's lives are just being planned
With an engagement, kids, and careers too
No one could understand the pain they went through
As a ripple, their lives faded away
But we will remember them after that day
Their families lie in bed in tears with only memories they have to keep because their love for them was so true and deep
And now I sit and wonder If they are safe up with the man who makes thunder
So let's all stand proud and tall
Before another drop begins to fall.
Dedicated to the four slain RCMP Officers who sacrificed their lives for our safety.
